Estee Lauder Gift with Purchase Fall 2013

Bonjour everyone! It has been so long since my last post, so I wanted to give you all a little background on what has been going on with me. Well you might remember in one of my last posts I was talking about how my dad had a heart attack. It damaged his heart so severely he has an ICD, which is similar to a pacemaker, that beats his heart for him. I had to leave university so that I could find a job to support my family. I was hired at Macy’s and now work in the cosmetics department for Estee Lauder. I feel so fortunate to being working with the girls I work with. They are all so amazing. I swear it’s like I leave my family at home, and go to my other family. Well enough with the gushing Winking smile haha I’ll put some more info in the about me section if you’re interested.

From now on I will be only posting about Estee Lauder beauty products. Why you ask? Well honestly, it would be a conflict of interest from me to promote other brands so I think it would be better if I keep you guys up to date with everything new going on at our counter. Like always guys, I’ll tell you my true feeling about products and in the end you can decide. So let’s get started Smile

Starting on September 2nd, Estee Lauder will be having their gift with purchase at Macy’s.

20130819_102326

If you spend $35 or more you get this adorable cosmetic bag, a small bottle of Pleasures perfume, a small bottle of our new Advanced Night Repair, Sumptuous mascara, Perfectly Clean face wash, a lipstick, and a four color eye shadow pallet. Let me show you a closer look of what you will be getting:

First lets talk about Pleasures (0.5 fl oz $30, 1.7 fl oz $60, 3.4 fl oz $82):

pleasures

(Estee Lauder)

What Estee Lauder says:

“One of life’s simple pleasures. Fresh as flowers after a rain, this sheer, shimmering floral is a spirited blend of Lilies, Peonies and Jasmine, all tingling with the rare essence of exotic Baie Rose. Never sweet, ever fresh, it delights your senses with pleasure after pleasure. Fragrance Type: Sheer Floral Top Notes: White Lily, Violet Leaves , Green Accents Middle Notes: Black Lilac,  White Peony, Karo-Karounde Blossoms, Baie Rose,  Pink Rose,  Jasmine Base Notes: Sandalwood,  Patchouli.”

What I say:

A lot of people like this fragrance because it is so light and fresh. Personally, I can’t capture the smell of it. Every I try it it’s too fresh for me. For a reference, I like stronger scents such as Coco Mademoiselle, Chanel Chance, YSL Manifesto, etc.

Next in the gift is the new improved formula of the classic Advanced Night Repair Serum (1 fl oz $62 and 1.7 fl oz $92) :

Advanced Night Repair

(Estee Lauder)

What Estee says:

Advanced Night Repair addresses all key signs of visible aging, with innovative repair technology for more comprehensive and precise nighttime repair.

  • Lines and wrinkles look significantly reduced. More than 75% of women felt their skin looked more youthful–in just 4 weeks.
  • Skin feels smoother, hydrated, stronger. 82% of women felt their skin was immediately hydrated.
  • Skin looks younger, radiant, more translucent and even toned. 83% of women felt their skin looked healthier, fresher, more rested–in just 4 weeks.
  • Effective for every ethnicity.

Experience the power to change your skin–every night.”

What I say:

This stuff is seriously THE BEST product I have ever used. With this serum I saw immediate change in my skin. That’s right I said immediate! I use this after I was my face and use my toner, I apply this using the heart method and my skin is instantly hydrated. I’ve been using it day and night for approximately 1 month and I have noticed that my skin doesn’t break out as much, my acne scaring is reduced, and my skin isn’t flakey. Everyone in my house hold uses it, including my dad! haha

Next is Sumptuous mascara (full size $24) in black:

sumptous

What Estee says:

“Lift each lash with big, bold, weightless volume. THE FORMULA Unprecedented Bold Volume™ formula has ultra light, lash-thickening fibers. Lifts and plumps even sparse lashes into big, lush lashes that are all lightness and flirtatious curl. THE BRUSH Exclusive BrushComber™ thickens like a brush. Defines like a comb.  Wraps your entire lash in air-light volume. Lashes soar with 360° lift and curl. THE LOOK Daringly full, sensuously curved, all-out seductive lashes.  Now take your lashes all the way to big, bold, beautiful.”

What I say:

I love this mascara guys, it is so amazing. I particularly like the brush because I really feel like it captures all of my lashes and coats them evenly, which means no horrendous clumping! Hurray! This gives excellent volume, but I have since upgraded to Sumptuous Extreme. Sumptuous Extreme which gives MORE volume and MORE fullness.

Perfectly Clean Face Wash 5 fl oz ($25):

perfectly clean face wash

(Estee Lauder)

What Estee Lauder says:

Treat your skin with this refreshing foam that cleanses gently yet thoroughly.
Creamy formula rapidly lathers into a rich foaming cleanser that works for all skintypes and is ideal for normal/combination skin.
Gently removes makeup and other impurities. Unclogs pores. Leaves skin healthy, fresh and luminous.
Use it 2 ways: Morning and night as a daily cleanser to purify skin.  Or twice a week as a 3-minute purifying mask.”

What I say:

I have extreme combination skin, which means that my t-zone is super oily and my cheeks are extremely dry. I tried this and I have to say I liked it. I really liked that is foamed and I loved the way it smells. The smell reminds me of laundry detergent, but even nicer. For my skin type this wasn’t the appropriate cleanser, but it did its job. I prefer to use the Perfectly Clean Gelee Cleanser. The Gelee is great for all skin types, but especially benefits oily skin.

Next in the gift you get your choice of eye shadow pallet with accompanying lipstick, lets look at the lip colors first:

You can choose between Crystal Baby and Passion Fruit. Both lipstick comes in adorable packaging that matches the bag. Here are swatches of both colors on my skin.

What I say:

I love this stuff and use it daily. I don’t have wrinkles, but I do have very sensitive skin and the anti-irritants in this product really clam my skin.

ATZ

(Estee Lauder)

Advanced Time Zone Night (1.7 oz $70)

ATZN

(Estee Lauder)

or for Resilience Lift (1.7 oz $78, 2.5 oz $94):

L’Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier B.B. Cream

Bonjour world! I hope you are all well. I have been m.i.a. lately because I recently got a job as a beauty advisor and I have to say, it’s exhausting. I get home and just crash! So I have not been keeping up with my blog, but I’m learning to manage my time better.Today I want to share with you a review for L’Oreal’s Magic B.B. Cream. Before I jump in I want to state that I was sent this sample to review from SheSpeaks. If you’ve never heard of this site check it out! It’s similar to Influenster, where they choose you to review products and you blog about them, then complete a survey. I am in no way being told what to write in this review, anything I say is my own opinion and what I truly feel/think about the product.

I usually like to show pictures in the shade and in the sunlight so you can see how things look in different lighting, but in this case I was only able to do it indoors so I only have pictures with and without a flash.

So let’s get started!

The B.B. Cream comes in a 1.0 fl oz white tube and has a pointed, applicator.

013

019

What is really interesting about this B.B. Cream is that it comes out white and as you blend it, the B.B. Cream changes color to match you skin tone. My cream was in medium and in the following pictures you can see how it looks white.

Once you start blending it, the colors changes to match you skin, as shown below:

In the following pictures I am wearing L’Oreal Magic B.B. Cream:

As you can see, it really gives your skin a flawless look. I also really liked how long it lasted. What I did not like was how drying it felt on my skin. If you have oily skin, this is going to be PERFECT for you! If you have normal to combination skin I would say wear a more hydrating lotion before applying this. If you have dry skin, you’d need to exfoliate and moisturize REALLY well  before wearing this, and actually it still may not be great for your skin. Overall I really liked this product and was impressed at how well the color changed to match my skin.

Have you tried L’Oreal’s Magic B.B. Cream? If so, what did you think of it? Did you feel like it was drying as well? As always I love to hear your feedback Smile

.mark- Super Flip Color Kit

Guys I am so excited to share this with you today. Most of us can not wait for Spring, the weather, the fashion, and of course the colors and make-up! I want to share with you all my favorite Spring pallet.

flip it

I’m even more excited because it is currently on sale right now! Hurray! The colors are so gorgeous I’m thinking about ordering a couple just to save Winking smile haha. Here are some quick swatches from my very own pallet.

What’s cool about this pallet is that it flips, on one side you have 9 eye shadows and on the other side you have a face illuminator.

012

The following are taken in the shade:

Face illuminator:

011

9 eye shadows:

014

First row: (from left to right) Plumify, Peep, Royaled up

007

Second row: (from left to right): Taxi, Sky High, Tiger Lily

009

Third row: (from left to right): Fluffy, Greenery, Black Tie

I love how beautiful and pigmented these colors are, well all except Fluffy but I actually don’t like opaque white eye shadow. All of these swatches were dry because that’s normally how I wear my make-up.

This pallet is currently $9.99 and if you use discount code WELCOME, you get free shipping Smile Click HERE to check out this great deal

What do you think of this pallet?

Zoya- Addison

When you hear the name Addison who do you think of? I think of Addison from Grey’s Anatomy, Derek’s Ex wife. I have to say I really didn’t like her character and definitely didn’t watch Private Practice. When I was looking for some pretty nudes from Zoya I didn’t want to try Addison because of the name. How silly is that?! So I bought it and absolutely love it! I am currently sporting this color because I have been going to job interviews.

If you notice a little wear on my nails it’s because I’ve been wearing this color for 3 days now and have not experienced any chips! I’m wearing 3 coats, but you only need 2 coats for the color to be fully opaque. I’m very much into vivid colors, but I have to say guys I am loving this nude.

What do you think? Have you ever judged a color based on it’s name?

Belated Holiday Nail Art

Hello all, I hope you all have had a great day. Today I have a quick post on some nail art I did around the holidays. I never got around to posting it because I had so much going on, so I’m just going to post how my nails looked Smile These were all Christmas manicures I did. I actually didn’t have a chance to try New Year’s manicures because I spent those days in the hospital with my dad. I was planning to do 3D firework nails, hmm maybe for the 4th of July? Smile

Here are my Grinch nails. I did funky stripes because it reminded me of the strange Dr. Seuss world:

Are you practicing your Valentine’s Day nail art?

Locks of Love

This post is not a review of anything, but I thought I’d share something I’ve been working on for a while now. I’ve always cut my hair really short, mostly because I just prefer it that way. I’ve gotten compliments on my hair on how thick it is, how dark, etc. and to be honest it just seems normal to me haha. My mom would always joke to me, “Your hair would make a nice wig,” and that got me thinking. I decided to start growing out my hair so that I can donate it to Locks of Love.

 locks

If you don’t know about Locks of Love, here is there mission:

mission

I decided to grow out my hair in December of 2010 and I still have some growing to do. The minimum length to donate is 10 inches and when I started my hair was really short. Here are some pictures of my hair when I first started growing it out:

Here I had cut it really short this was in December of 2010:

I still have a lot of hair growing to do, but I’m committed to it. I have also been trying to take care of my hair by not using many heating products and by using moisturizing shampoos.  If giving my hair makes at least one person smile, makes them feel beautiful, and for a moment not worry about there condition then this is all worth it. I will write another post in the future when I donate my hair so you can see how long it ends up being Smile

Have you guys ever donated to Locks of Love? If so how long was your hair?

Wet and Wild Wild Shine- Rain Check

Bonjour everyone, I hope you are all having a great Saturday so far. Today’s nail polish swatch could not be more appropriate. It’s been raining all day here in Tucson and I’ am currently sporting Wet and Wild’s Wild Shine nail polish in Rain Check. This color is so beautiful in the bottle. It has a faint duochrome to the color so it changes between light blue to a light purple. Once the color is on I feel like it doesn’t really look like anything inside the bottle. On the nails I don’t see any duochrome and the color looks more grey/blue with a frosty finish.

Again, it’s cloudy out so I’m going to show you different lighting, first outdoor cloudy:

Outdoor with flash:

Indoor lighting:

Overall I LOVED this color. I really didn’t think I’d like it as much. It is rather sheer, but it was not streaky and builds up very nicely. In the pictures above I used 3 coats. I was doing my nails in a hurry so I was surprised at how fast this dried and how there were little to no air bubble. I paid $0.99 for this polish at Kmart and for that price, I’d say check it out! I picked up another polish from this brand that I’ll swatch in the coming week, so be sure to check that out Winking smile

What do you think of this color?

OPI- Just Spotted The Lizard

Hello all, I have another polish to share with you. This is OPI Just Spotted The Lizard and I got this as a free sample from JC Penny when I bought some other OPI polishes. What I love about buying OPI at JCP is that if you buy more than two they come out to $6 each. I’m not sure if this is some type of promotion, but this happens EVERY time I go so I think it’s just what they do. So this polish is from the Amazing Spiderman Collection that came out sometime last year. It is a green/ gold duochrome and I have to say it was a very pretty color. In the bottle I noticed some blue in the polish, but I really didn’t see much on my nails.

It was cloudy today so I have shots for you in various lighting, first outside with cloudy weather:

006

007

Indoor lighting:

Outdoor cloudy with camera flash:

017

It took me 3 coats to get this polish the way I liked it. I only needed two coats for it to be completely opaque, but I added a third coat to even out the polish. This polish shows every little ridge on your nail, so be sure to wear a ridge filler with it. I didn’t wear a ridge filled so you could see a little bit of imperfections in my nails, but I honestly don’t mind it. Especially while being distracted by such a gorgeous color!

What do you think of this color? There are so many versions of this shade, do you currently own one?

Until next time, stay pretty <3

OPI- My Very First Knockwurst

Hello world, I hope you are all happy and doing well. If you’re not, is there any way I can help you feel better? Sad smile If you’re thinking, “A nail polish swatch would cheer me up,” then you are in luck my friends. Today I have OPI’s My Very First Knockwurst. This is from the Germany Collection and I recently picked it up in search for a neutral shade for job interviews. I thought this color looked gorgeous in the bottle so I had to have it. My Very First Knockwurst is a creamy beige-white color with a tiny hint of pink. No shimmer in this shade, just pure creaminess. The first coat was quite streaky, but it evened out on the second coat.

004

In the shade:

In direct sunlight:

Overall, I really loved this shade BUT I don’t think it went well with my skin tone. I feel like it washed me out and made my hands look strange. I was so self conscious about my nails I decided not to wear this to my interview.

What do you think of this shade? What nail color do you recommend for job interviews?

Sally Hansen Gem Crush- Razzle Dazzler

Bonjour everyone, today I have a super girly glittery polish. It is Sally Hansen’s Gem Crush in Razzle Dazzle. I have to say this color looked cute in the bottle, and amazing on. I feel like these pictures do not do it justice. The polish is a fine, purple glitter with round pink pieces of glitter mixed in. The purple is very vivid and the bright pink is very noticeable. I noticed in direct sunlight it had a little bit of holographic shine.

In the shade:

001

003

010

In direct sunlight:

005

007

009

I honestly don’t really like Sally Hansen polishes because I find the majority of them are very streaky, but I am loving these Gem Crush polishes. I only had to use two coats for full opaqueness. The full size polish retails for $6.99 at Ulta and I got this little bottle in a set of 4 at Walgreens for $3.99.

What do you think of the Gem Crush polishes? Do you have any Sally Hansen colors you would recommend to me?

Until next time, stay pretty <3
